Anointing of the Sick

Anointing of the sick is offered every first Sunday of the month after the 9:30 a.m. Mass. Any Catholic who is seriously ill or about to have surgery is invited to come and be anointed by the priest. Children who have reached the age of reason (seven years) and are seriously ill can also be anointed. Please sit in the front pew near the altar.

The anointing of the sick is a sacrament that helps to bring spiritual and physical strength to those who have an illness or are near death. These times are very difficult and emotional and the anointing is a healing sacrament established by Jesus Christ. Through the power of the holy spirit the rite that is performed conveys God’s grace to the person. To arrange anointing, please call the parish office at 732-681-0512 Ext. 415
